Join the 40th Ward Democrats for their Summer and Fall Volunteer Opportunities! This 2024 Presidential Election, the 40th Ward Dems are setting their sights on organizing in swing states. Check out the lists of activities below to see where you can plug in.

Whether you are a 40th Ward resident or a committed neighbors in Chicago, all are welcome to organize with the 40th Ward Democrats! The 40th Ward Democrats is a neighbor-led political organization dedicated to increasing voter turnout and supporting candidates who embody our community’s values.

Types of Volunteer Opportunities include Postcard Writing to swing states, Letter Writing to registered but infrequent Georgia voters, door knocking in Michigan and Wisconsin, and organizing for an upcoming Elected School Board forum. Soon to be added: Phone Banking to Swing States with Operation Swing State!

Note: These dates for are days where Committeewoman Maggie O'Keefe has committed to being at herself. If you are interested in canvassing in swing states on days not listed, please read the note below.

Who is Committeewoman O'Keefe? Maggie was elected in 2020 as Democratic Committeeperson of the 40th Ward. Committeepeople are responsible for (a) turning Democrats in their ward out to vote, (b) building an active political organization, and (c) ensure fair and safe elections. Maggie's charge is registering young people to vote, gaining access to the ballot through education-based organizing, and turning people's fear into Democratic action.
